The picture below is of Kirsty Brooks striding across the surface of Spider Lake, a salt lake on the southern tip of Yorke Peninsula, adjacent to Innes National Park, South Australia. This photo, taken just before sunset around Xmas 2000, doesn't do the location justice. The setting features in The Sky Warden & the Sun, second book in SLW's Change series. After a failed attempt to reach Arkaroola and nearby Lake Frome the previous month, Spider Lake proved a more than adequate alternate source of inspiration.
